Production process

Our production process

Motek designs and manufactures industrial automation systems through a structured and transparent process, engineered to ensure rigorous engineering standards, build quality, and full traceability.
From requirements gathering to commissioning, each phase integrates mechanical, electrical, and software expertise within a single mechatronic architecture.

The process adapts to both ETO (Engineer-to-Order) projects, where Motek develops fully custom special machines based on unique specifications, and BTP (Build-to-Print) projects, executed from client drawings and technical specifications, including co-design and targeted industrialization activities.

Through on-site inspections, feasibility studies, 2D and 3D CAD design, component selection and qualification, assembly and wiring, customized HMI software development, functional testing (FAT and SAT), and direct management of CE, UL, and CSA certifications, Motek supports the client through to full line integration.

The result is a reliable solution optimized for performance, safety, energy efficiency, and maintainability; designed to deliver long-term value.

PHASE 1: Analysis and Feasibility

In this phase, we transform the initial requirement into a set of measurable and verifiable data.

1. Brief and site survey: direct observation of processes, analysis of workflows, system constraints, and safety requirements.

2. Concept and layout: definition of the operating principle and development of a preliminary layout using 2D and 3D CAD tools.

3. Optimization: technical refinement of components and materials to ensure optimal performance and operating costs.

4. Quotation: development of a modular technical and financial proposal, including consulting for Industry 4.0 and 5.0 incentives.

PHASE 2: Integrated Engineering

Synergistic integration of all engineering disciplines to ensure long-term system reliability.

5. Mechanical design: definition of structures and kinematics using advanced CAD software and strength simulations.

6. Electrical design: development of power and control schematics, with CE, UL, and CSA-certified electrical panels for global markets.

7. Automation architecture: in-house development of PLC logic, motion control, and customized HMI interfaces to ensure usability and scalability.

The Motek Value: every phase is designed to ensure full control, verified quality, and operational continuity.

PHASE 3: Manufacturing and Finishing

Fully managed production within Motek facilities, with complete control over the supply chain.

8. Assembly: installation and alignment of all mechanical and electrical components according to strict quality protocols.

9. Wiring and calibration: precision wiring and functional testing using the client’s actual product.

10. Documentation: in-house development of user manuals, maintenance plans, and spare parts lists in compliance with international standards.

11. Certification: compliance verification with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and internal management of UL/CSA certification processes for the USA and Canada.

PHASE 4: Validation and Commissioning

We support the client through to full production line integration.

12. FAT: preliminary testing at Motek to validate performance, cycle times, and safety in collaboration with the client.

13. Shipping: controlled disassembly and certified technical packaging for national and international transport.

14. Installation: positioning, connection, and operational training of personnel at the destination facility.

15. SAT: final on-site testing to certify full operational compliance and official production start-up.
